Ongoing projects include, but are not limited to...
Our largest service project began years ago by providing food baskets to needy families during the holidays.  It has evolved into a community-wide project in which over 130 families are adopted.  We organize and oversee the collection and disbursement of food, clothing, and gifts for each family member.  Download our form and get involved today!  Please go to the Christmas Baskets page for further information on our current  60th Annual Christmas Basket project!

Christmas Family Adoption Program "Adopt a Family Christmas Baskets"
Project Layette
In April, we hold our annual "baby shower" to stock the pantry at Teen Connection in Glen Ellyn.  Teen Connection is a local organization that supports young mothers here in DuPage Country through counseling, education and child support.
Jolly Grams
Delight your child with this special holiday keepsake sponsored by the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club!  A personalized letter will be mailed directly to your child from the Arctic Circle's most prominent and jolly citizen!  Enhance the magic of this season for your little one for only $6 per letter, and in turn help support our philanthropic endeavors: Christmas Baskets, ESSE Center, Philip Rock Center, Teen Connection, Family Shelter Service and DuPage PADS.  Letters sent to the same home will be unique to each child, there one child only per letter. Please go to the Home page for further details. The Jolly Grams are due December 5th, 2009
Dupage Senior Citizens Council
This is a private, not for profit agency that offers a variety of services to help people, aged 60 and over to thrive in the community.  GEJWC services many of these seniors as “nutrition volunteers” delivering hot meals and checking on their well-being during many scheduled routes every month.
YWCA
The YWCA offers services in the areas of counseling, sexual assault services, employment and child care.  They touch the lives of more than 22,000 DuPage County women and their families.  Juniors assist this organization based on their needs.  We have made care bags to help the children transition into a new living environment and have provided books, a table and toys for the waiting room.  This project will be based on the needs each year.
PADS
Glen Ellyn Homeless Shelter – We contact PADS personnel and find out their needs and see how Juniors might be able to service the homeless.  This year we made lunches for 50 people and delivered them to a local church.  This project will be based o the needs each year.
Flower Bed Planting
Every spring, juniors plant flowers for the village of Glen Ellyn in our designated location across from Starbucks on Crescent.  We plant the flowers in late May.
The Philip J. Rock Center and School
The Center and School is operated by The Illinois State Board of Education. The primary goal of the Philip J. Rock Center and School is to help people who are deaf-blind achieve maximum independence based on their individual potential.   GEJWC provides “birthday treats” to their children as well as providing for other needs as requested.
